The application allows to build different panels with copies of the same tile, taking advantage of operations of translation, rotation, reflection and sliding reflection.

The tiles included in this application were created by the mathematician Jorge Rezende, winner of the “SOS Azulejo 2012” Innovative Approach Award.

“Tiles are particularly suitable for the study of symmetries; with many copies of a single tile one can make panels of great beauty and with different groups of symmetry; in this task we can involve students of all ages who thus begin their path in Science and Art; an art with such Portuguese traditions, after all.”
